Block Deck Extension

The grassy area behind two classrooms in this school was underutilised, students could not be monitored here as it was hidden behind the classrooms with no easy access to get to it, making it out of bounds to students.

By opening up this side of the classes, using a double stacker door system to each class and building a new deck for them to open up to, adding accessible ramps and separate stairs down to a re-landscaped grass area featuring astroturf and large shade sails, the school now have a safe, new, all weather environment for children to play in.

Significantly, it has also resulted in the previously dark classrooms receiving a lot more natural light. A clearlite canopy over the door entrances means the stacker doors can be left open for fresh air when needed, whatever the weather.
