Transforming Music Spaces with Autex Solutions

Acoustics are important to music spaces, not only for the enjoyment of users but also to ensure rich tones, clear transmission of sound and to reduce interference from outside noises.

The old hessian wall coverings were at their end of life and due for replacement in the Music Block of this school, so after calculating current and potential reverberation times using different solutions, it was decided to install Autex 10mm Composition pinboard lining on all four walls of the main auditorium, and Autex 2mm Vertiface over the existing fabric covered softboard linings, to all walls in all practice rooms.

In collaboration with the school, we came up with a creative design for angled panels in two different colours, with zero wastage, for the main auditorium and a different bright colour for each practice room. This cost effective installation has resulted in achieving not only great acoustics, but stunning visual aesthetics as well, throughout all Music Block spaces.
