Renovation and sound reduction
The Max Style team focused on several key renovations for Holy Cross Catholic School in Papatoetoe. These included revamping the Sick Bay and Reception, expanding storage in the reception area by building a new trophy/storage cabinet, and installing acoustic wall lining in the library and music room.
The work in the sick bay and reception area included the installation of new sink cabinets, a desktop, and a double-sided trophy display/storage cabinet.
We also upgraded the fittings, handles and the cabinet hinges to soft close ones, added a tiled splashback behind the sink in the sick bay, and painted the walls. The school entrance was revitalised by installing new AUTEX wall lining.
Having a library right next to a music room creates challenges when it comes to noise transfer between the areas. To tackle the issue, we have installed industry-renowned AUTEX wall lining on both rooms’ walls from the floor to the ceiling. Not only does this alleviate outside noise pollution, but it also reduces the echoes in the library caused by its high ceilings.
Sound reduction between the spaces was further improved by replacing the existing sliding door with a bespoke solid core, bifold door system.
